Gorham project triumphs over COVID-19
/GORHAM, MAINE — Although some large construction projects in Maine have been hampered by dealing with COVID-19 complications, Northland Enterprises reported this morning that a 79,000 square foot facility in Gorham, under construction since last summer, has fared well and is on schedule.
Northland and Harvey Performance Company announced the project last summer, and it’s now nearing completion. The new building is at 49 Raceway Drive in Gorham, about 5 miles from the company’s current facility, which it has occupied for the past fifteen years.
“Landry/French is our construction partner, and I couldn’t be happier with the stringent measures they’ve taken,” said Josh Benthien, CEO and partner at Northland. “The client is happy, too. We’re right on track for Harvey to move into the building this summer, as originally planned.”
Harvey makes world class precision cutting tools to support machinists, engineers and CNC programmers. Their new campus will serve as a state-of-the-art research and production facility and will be home to well over 100 well-paying jobs for highly-skilled workers. Northland owns the building, but designed it in close collaboration with Harvey so they could have a custom-built facility that meets their needs for precision.
